Campaigning for Littleover and Derby Learn more

Notts and Derby plan to end the 35 bus service https://bustimes.org/services/35-derby-bretton-avenue-havenbaulk-avenue from 20 July. Local Lib Dems are campaigning to save it.
The 35 Bus service only takes about £37 per day, even including the money for ‘free’ bus journeys. This is not enough to pay for the drivers’ wages, fuel, cleaning, insurance and so on.
Local councillors have talked with the Council and bus company about ways the service might be saved. Another £16,000 a year is needed, or three times as many passengers. Local Liberal Democrats are planning a survey of existing passengers, and are trying to persuade the Council to at least support the service for long enough to seek other sources of funding and publicise the service so that more people use it.
If you could help, please get in touch. Thanks.
